Course Rationale and Background:
Islamic Economics, Banking and Capital Market have witnessed a remarkable growth over the last
three decades, especially since the mid-70's. There has been a sustainable development in this field
at both levels, theoretical as well as practical. Islamic capital markets are provided not only by
Islamic financial institutions, but also by their conventional counterparts, which found a niche in this
flourishing market. Moreover, a number of countries in the Muslim world have transformed their
economies and financial sectors to be in full compliance with Islamic financial principles.
Target Population:
The Course is designed for capital regulatory & supervision organizations and financial institutions,
officials of central banks, Islamic banks, commercial banks.
Course Objectives:
The main objectives of the course are to familiarize the participants with the main concepts and tools
of Islamic Finance, Economics and Banking and share experience with other countries, particularly
those who have implemented Islamic Capital markets.
The Course methodology will comprise presentations, lectures, models and case studies to be
delivered by qualified lecturers. Participants will be encouraged to actively participate in the

- Latest Shariah Board Achievements
- Global Development of Islamic Financial System (SWOT)
- An Overview on Islamic Financial Instruments / Institutions in Iran
- Sukuk models in Iran (with emphasis on Ijarah and Murabaha)
- The Stability of Islamic Finance (Creating a Resilient Financial Environment)
- Settlement Guaranty Fund in Islamic Framework
- Applications of Islamic Financial Instruments in Energy Exchange
- Panel Discussion: Islamic Finance in Iran

Admission Requirements:
• University degree in Economics, business Administration, Finance or related subjects
• Be a professional having exposure to finance, banking and other related business activities
• Have a minimum professional experience of five years in one or more of the above fields.
• Proficient in English language
Since the course will be conducted in English, the participants should have a good command of the
English language.

Administrative & Financial Arrangements:
Organizers shall bear all educational costs, as well as lodging and boarding of the participant for the
period of their stay in Iran. This includes single-room reservations for the period of their stay with
three meals per day. All other costs (including international telephone calls, laundry, …) should be
borne by the participant itself.
The participant should plan to arrive in Tehran maximum 2 days before opening and leave Tehran
maximum 2 days after closure of the course.
Please note participants will responsible for their "airfare ticket" only.
